    Airfreight – the pressure is on
    With apparent pressure on capacity ex Asia in recent weeks and this leading to significant rate level increases we have again moved towards a market development similar to pre-pandemic. Somewhat unexpectedly the peak season for volumes ex Asia has led to significant pressure on available capacity having been boosted by events such as Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Some analysts now predict that this could be sustained all the way up to Lunar New Year, 10 February 2024.

    Scan Global Logistics (SGL) continues its European expansion as they open a new office in Dunkirk, France. It's SGL's third office in France and part of establishing a centre of expertise in Northern France within the Industrial Projects sector. The expansion follows the recent opening in Romania; reportedly, other countries will soon be added to the global freight forwarder's growing footprint.

    Scan Global Logistics (SGL) will strengthen its market position in Europe's largest logistics market, Germany, by adding the Top 50 ocean freight forwarder ETS Transport & Logistics GmbH (ETS) to the group. The partnership will add scale and commercial muscles to SGL's German organisation, especially within ocean freight. The combined organisation of more than 100 experienced logistics professionals will significantly strengthen the global freight forwarder's position in the German market.
