Swissport, the world’s leading aviation services provider, has launched its first dedicated perishables centre in the United Kingdom at London Heathrow Airport (LHR). The new facility strengthens the company’s global cool-chain network and supports growing demand for fresh Atlantic salmon. Scan Global Logistics is the first customer to operate from the site.

Effective November 2011, Mr. Henrik von Sydow (59) has been appointed new CEO of Scan Global Logistics.

During August, Scan Global Logistics airlifted around 3000 tons of air cargo for the humanitarian crises in Ethiopia, Kenya and Somalia, and much more is scheduled to go during September & October.

At the moment, Thailand is experiencing a major natural disaster with flood water devastating 60 provinces out of 77 in the country.
