We receive a top environmental performance rating from CDP – once again

15 Mar, 2024

We are pleased to announce that we have again achieved an A- rating from the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), reaffirming our position as a leader in sustainable practices and environmental stewardship. This recognition underscores our steady dedication to sustainability and climate action.

The CDP, the foremost authority in assessing corporate environmental performance, has given us this rating in acknowledging our excellent leadership, proactive measures, and adherence to best practices. It validates our determined pursuit of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) investments aligned with science-based targets to limit global warming to 1.5˚C.

As an international nonprofit organisation, CDP plays a crucial role in assisting companies and cities worldwide in measuring, managing, and disclosing the environmental impact of climate change. Our achievement of the A- rating places us in the upper rank of environmental performance, with only the top 12% within our industry achieving similar recognition. Notably, the European regional average stands at a B, and the global average is C, like the Intermodal Transport & Logistics Sector, which also averages a C rating.

Martin Andersen, our Global Head of Sustainability, ESG, and Quality, highlights the critical importance of sustainability within our operations:

‘Reducing emissions throughout the supply chain is paramount in combatting global warming, yet emissions in this sector persist in their ascent. As the hard-to-abate transport sector remains one of the fastest-growing sources of emissions worldwide, we all must prioritise sustainability in our industry. We are committed to working closely with suppliers and assisting customers by offering sustainable logistics solutions to reach our climate targets together.’

Continued ESG advancements

We pledge to further contribute to reducing our and our customers' CO2 emissions through ongoing initiatives and collaborations with suppliers and stakeholders throughout the supply chain. The achievement of the A- rating is a testament to our robust environmental strategy, commitment to ESG transparency, presentation of emission reduction initiatives, disclosure of opportunities, governance, business strategy, financial planning, and scenario analysis.
