Cyclone Idai made landfall in Beira, Mozambique on March 14, 2019. The result was the region’s most destructive flooding in 20 years.

People fled to rooftops and clung to trees to avoid the water masses. More than 1000 people in Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Malawi have died and there are reports of confirmed cholera cases in Beira.

As part of our long-standing cooperation with UN, Scan Global Logistic’s Aid & Development teams are in the midst of handling several flights to Beira. The aircrafts contain much needed relief goods to the people affected by the cyclone and subsequent flooding.

The impact of the cyclone will leave a mark on the countries for a very long time. Scan Global Logistics is proud to play a small part in the relief efforts.
