SGL increased revenue to EUR 2,526m from EUR 2,383m in 2024 and improved EBITDA before special items to EUR 219m, up from EUR 195m in 2024, an improvement of just over 12%.
"2025 has been a year of fighting for results. The market has been characterised by volatility, geopolitical turmoil and pressure on margins, but we have delivered growth and improved earnings through disciplined execution and strong collaboration across the organisation, thanks to our employees," says Allan Melgaard, Global CEO of Scan Global Logistics.
Tough market – strong effort
Freight rates and volume have fluctuated significantly throughout the year, and competition has been intense. Still, SGL has managed to increase gross profit to EUR 560m from EUR 516m in 2024 and EBIT before special items to EUR 122m from EUR 112m in 2024.
Ocean freight delivered a 25% volume increase, while airfreight grew steadily by 6%.
"We have proven that our business model is robust and laid a good foundation for the future, so we are more strongly positioned than before," Allan Melgaard continues.
Financial costs explain the negative bottom line
Profit after tax for the year was impacted by increased financial costs. These relate, among other things, to the refinancing of the Group's debt and to financing the acquisition of ITN Logistic Group in Canada.
"When you invest in growth and build a global company, financial costs naturally come with it. This does not change the fact that the underlying operations are developing positively and in accordance with our expectations," says Allan Melgaard.
Ready for the next phase
2025 was also the year SGL opened its own offices in India. This means that the transport and logistics company now has a strong presence across many of the world's leading economies, strategically important countries and emerging markets, laying the foundation for the next phase: profitable growth and further efficiencies.
"We are entering 2026 stronger with a clear ambition to continue to create value for customers, employees and owners," concludes Allan Melgaard.
