Golden Week 2025 Reminder – Planning in advance ensures smooth supply chains

15 Sep, 2025

The annual Golden Week celebrations in China are fast approaching. This year, the holiday period runs from 1–8 October 2025, combining National Day and the Mid-Autumn Festival. Businesses across mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan will either close or operate with limited staffing during this time. If your supply chain relies on goods moving in or out of the region during this period, now is the time to act.

Holiday overview by region:

Mainland China:

  • 1–8 October (National Day & Mid-Autumn Festival)

Hong Kong:

  • 1 October (National Day)
  • 7 October (Mid-Autumn Festival)
  • 29 October (Chung Yeung Festival)

Taiwan:

  • 29 September (Teachers’ Day)
  • 6 October (Mid-Autumn Festival)
  • 10 October (Double Ten Day)
  • 24–25 October (Taiwan Retrocession Day)

What this means for your supply chain

During this extended holiday, operations across airfreight, ocean freight, road, and rail will be affected by temporary closures and reduced staffing. Delays in communication and cargo handling are likely.

To minimise disruptions, we recommend the following:

Book shipments well in advance – at least 14 days before your expected departure

Allow extra lead time for cargo clearance and delivery

Stay informed about your suppliers' schedules

Our support throughout the holiday

Our teams in China will have skeleton staff available to manage critical requests and emergencies. We are committed to helping you navigate the holiday period with minimal impact on your operations.
