Allan Melgaard takes on the role as Group CEO for Scan Global Logistics
Effective November 20, 2017, Mr. Allan Melgaard (47) has been appointed new CEO of Scan Global Logistics.
Allan began his career in Samson Transport and joined Scan Global Logistics in 1993, when the company was still called Mahé Freight. At that time, he held the position as a sales consultant in Mahé Denmark. In 2004, Allan took on the role as joint CEO and became co-owner of Mahé side by side with Mr. Jørgen Jessen. Together they formed the “DNA” of Scan Global Logistics as we know it today; a company built on openness, honesty and trust. When Mahé merged with ScanAm in 2007 and became Scan Global Logistics, Allan took on the role as CCO, a position he now keeps alongside with his role as Group CEO.
”Allan Melgaard is the right person to lead our company to the next stage and through exciting times of market opportunities. Through almost 25 years, Allan Melgaard has been a very valuable asset to the company in regards to his entrepreneurship and excellent understanding of what it takes to exceed our customers’ expectations. I am convinced that a CEO of Allan Melgaard’s caliber is able to bring the company to the next level and, at the same time, be true to our DNA”, says Mr. Henrik von Sydow, Chairman and former CEO of SGL.
“I am very proud and excited to take on my extended role as CEO. My main focus is to ensure that Scan Global Logistics continues to stay true to its DNA and that we do what we do best; deliver tailored transport and logistic solutions with a customer-centric focus keeping our agile pace”, says Mr. Allan Melgaard.
